Calling all Frugal Art Collectors

(clockwise from bottom left: 1-3 items from The Cooper Union Student Art Sale and Auction, 4-6 and middle item from the Riviera Gallery Holiday Sale.)
Both this weekend and next weekend there will be two lesser-priced art sales happening in NYC for collectors on shoe-string budgets. The Editors’ of petiteMort will defintely be around as everyone knows how we can’t pass up any junkshop, neighborhood starving artist sale, and/or flea-market insearch of neglected paintings and unlovable embodiments of artist expression.
First, starting this Friday Dec. 9th from 7 to 10pm, the Riviera Gallery in Williamsburg Brooklyn is having it’s holiday gift sale of artist products products. Let’s hope the have some Jeff Winterberg photos.
Then, on Friday Dec. 16th -18th in Manhattan, the students of The Cooper Union School of Art and Sciences is having thier annual art sale and silent auction. Who could pass up the chance of owning a future art star’s work for peanuts? Not that I like Alex Katz, but imagine owning a Alex Katz drawing from when he was a student at Cooper Union? We’ve actually have a few pieces from Cooper Union Alumni in our frugal collect.
