An ArtCal Resurfaces

Last year, while researching the various online calendar options for petitemort.org, I came across Art32Openings, an iCal by user hoggardb on .mac. I had subscribed to it even thought I had no idea who hoggardb was -all I new was that the listings on Art32Openings were relatively consistent and interesting. For a short period I begun to rely on it up until that quiet afternoon when hoggardb stopped updating the calendar.

Coincidentally, just last night actually, while reading up on the art-blogsphere I came across ArtCal, a new webcal that was started by NYC art bloggers Barry Hoggard of Bloggy and James Wagner of jameswagner.com. I’m assuming this is the same hoggardb that created Art32Openings last year and just officially re-launched it as ArtCal.

Long story short: now you can subscribe to ArtCal.net’s calendar of art events via iCal (ArtCal subscription feeds) . The other option is to subscribe via Mozilla’s SunBird 0.3 alpha1 (alpha mode :() or via a Mozilla’s Calander extension (beta mode :() for Mozilla’s FireFox browser or ThunderBird Email application. Unfortunately for those who have the new Mac version of Firefox , the Sunbird Alpha extension is not compatible at the moment.

Or— if you’re sick of grabbing RSS, iCal, and Atom Feeds, the calendar is online in the old fashioned come-and-get-it way with text and pictures:
