Eyes Back On The Prize

Eyes On The Prize

Although this post is coming to you a day late, it’s still a good idea to catch the remaining 4 scheduled episodes of “Eyes on the Prize“, PBS’s 1987 award winning documentary on the Civil Rights movement in American. The 14 hr series has not aired since 1993 because of an uncensored word appearing in episode 6. I remember watching this in high school and it was pretty shocking especially for American growing up in the suburbs of Texas. I shouldn’t even compare this documentary to Spike Lee’s When The Levees Broke, but this documentary really gets you thinking about the state of the American rights, both then and now, beyond the emotional impulsive responses that were ever-present in When The Levees Broke.
