The AAS Department at Parsons The New School for Design and the Tishman Environment and Design Center at The New School present An Inconvenient Truth, a documentary directed by Davis Guggenheim that presents Al Gore’s campaign to bring worldwide recognition to the problem of global warming. Intertwining simple but harrowing statistics with personal reflections, Gore explains that the tools and methods to reverse the damage we have done are at hand and that the economic consequences of tackling the problem are positive rather than negative. A discussion with invited guests will follow.

Justine Kurland’s photographs examine and also create fantasies of utopian community, typically capturing inspired loners or gangs of girls in landscapes that are sometimes lushly pastoral and other times insidiously poisoned by industrial decay. Justine Kurland’s photographs have been exhibited at museums and galleries in the US and internationally. She received her B.F.A. from School of Visual Arts, NY in 1996 and
her M.F.A. from Yale University in 1998. She is represented by Mitchell-Innes & Nash, New York.
