Across the Universe, Literally

Screen grab of Britney Spears’ “Oops, I did it again” video. Watch it.
Just heard on a BBC report that the Beatles song “Across the Universe” is being literally beamed across the universe through NASA’s Deep Space Network. It’s aim? The hope that it’ll be intercepted by an alien life form on it’s route to star Polaris (wiki:polaris, 431 lightyears away). I can only imagine the sad possibility that somewhere in the vicinity of Polaris an alien life form that is extremely sensitive to sound is being blow apart by the lines “Jai guru deva om”~~~oops, we did it again!
Across the Universe
by the Beatles
Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing meJai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my worldImages of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universeJai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my worldSounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universeJai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva

I don’t get it. What does this have to do with B Spears? Do you think aliens hace ears?

In the case of The NASA + aliens, our need to connect may misconstrued and possibly detrimental. The Britney song is a reference to a type of misinterpretation too, this example being an overestimation of love.
Do I think aliens have ears? I think we have better questions to ask of things that truly do exist around us, here and now, and worry about that later.

I don’t agree with you, although the words you use sound smart. Nothing ever wrong with love and connection, however there is something detrimental about delusion, particularly when that is + Love. Delusion can be cultivated as well, it is a powerful thing.
